I work and live for MIDI , if you want Latin midi files I got tons of them , each sequenced by me. I am working with Midi since 1987. I like to make sequences with no computer based system it's a little unpractical" Actually I am a conductor in a band named "Elite" . We perform with backing sequences but LIVE! I make custom arrangements and custom backgrounds too, (with a high detail exactly as the original tape). That's my work way.
Hardware:
I make my music whit a system that I recommend you because it's very nice economic and gives you a great sound and realism . I use : Roland MC-50 mk2 (Sequencer) YAMAHA MU-80 (Sound Module) Standard controller...... and no more!!! (Odd, but great!!!)
Software:
Suddenly Cakewalk Pro and Recording Session.
Other Info:
If you wanna play my midi files in a Standard midi file player or such software , E-mail me I reside in Ecuador (The Galapagos Island country). If you contact me I give you a {[(F R E E)]} Latin midi file sequenced by me (of course). Try it!!! e-mail me at: cwbermu@goliat.espol.edu.ec

Experience
I've written MIDI music (isn't it great--much better than solo piano) for over 6 years (I'm 26). I've written everything from church choir/gospel to New Wave to Industrial songs. (Nothing C/W or Heavy Metal though).

I'm currently writing dance/club music and would like to get more into that genre.
Hardware
I currently use a KORG WaveStation SR module and Ensoniq SoundScape for sounds and a Yamaha PSR-500 for MIDI input.
Software
I use CakeWalk...the best there is! I love it! I also use Encore! for notation.
Other Info
I live in San Francisco and would love to meet other musicians for possible collaboration(s). I'm really wanting to start a band/group to do club/dance/live music for the gay community. There's great potential there....

Experience
My wife (Kim Roberts) has been using MIDI for about 3 years in her Piano Teaching Studio.
Hardware
We use a Mac Centris 610 coupled through its modem port to a Kurzweil Keyboard with a Studio+2 MIDI Interface.
Software
Music Prose 2.0 is the Notation software, and Performer 4.0 is the sequencing software.
Other Info
All of a sudden when using the Speedy Entry mode in Music Prose 2.0, we see only rests (instead of notes) when playing a key on the keyboard. We've tried replacing the cable between the modem port and the Studio+2 Interface, as well as resetting the keyboard and confirming that the correct MIDI buttons were depressed -- but no luck! If anyone out there has any suggestions as to what might be wrong, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ray.

I've been playing with computer music for about 20 years and MIDI for about 10. I know about Apple II and PC's and very little about Mac's and I cannot read or play one note of music. I'm just a techie who is has been fascinated by computer music ever since the first time I heard Applodian play music on an Apple II 20 years ago. My first MIDI setup was an Apple IIc for a sequencer with a MIDI adapter on the serial port and a Casio keyboard as a synth.
Hardware:
Pentium PC, With General MIDI SoundBlaster clone sound card and a Roland Sound Canvas SC155. Kawai K1 keyboard, Ensoniq EPS sampling keyboard and a DX8 electronic patch bay.
Software:
Cakewalk and MasterTracks. Pro plus several freeware librarian and wave editors for my keyboard.
