INTRODUCTION:
Musisis is a Performance Oriented Sequencing Development Project. As of now, the basic analysis of this project is pretty much done. We're currently
experimenting on a few basic routines and object structures.
The development goals are simple. No special libraries of controls unless it's controls
we'll be developing ourselves, not standards like (but not limited to) Borland's
OWL (Object Windows Library) or MFC (Microsoft foundation Class). we will be
using OOP and API calls to the necessary DLLs and we've chosen the C++
programming environments. The reason is to have the least possible amount of
conversion when the time to port the project to other operating systems arrives.
We have a document to describe the main engines to be built with a list of basic
features for each in order to have the project do what we are thinking about. At
this phase, although the document is written it is still open to
suggestions and ideas I do believe that it's important to mention that everyone
is welcome to express their desires in an application like this one.
This is the perfect occasion to see a professional level MIDI oriented project
get created from scratch and I'm sure it will serve greatly as a learning opportunity
for all involved and interested. If you can code you are welcome to participate
in any way that you can. If you can't you're also invited to participate and
give ideas and suggestions. So whoever you are whatever you do if MIDI is your
thing, get over here and let us know. The first and foremost goal of this whole
project is to have as much fun as possibly can while keeping everything serious
enough for things to move forward.
We have a EGROUP news group that you can join to see what's been discussed so
far and the documents are posted on that discussion board as well.
